Yesterday was Ashton's 4 month checkup. It was his first time going to our new doctor since my insurance changed. I was pretty mad when I found out we had to switch doctors but now I'm kind of glad that we did. We actually saw Julie, the doctor's PA. I had been to her a couple of times before and always liked her and I'm so happy that Ashton liked her too! I really like the way things are done at the office too. At our old doctor they just weighed Ashton with all of his clothes and diaper on, they never told us what percentile his height and weight were in, I always felt rushed, and we had to wait forever to actually get in to see the doctor. At the new office they weighed Ashton with no clothes or diaper, Julie spent about 45 minutes talking with us and we only had to wait 15 minutes! Ashton weighs 16lbs 11.5 oz now and is 27" long. Julie said that his weight is in the 75th percentile and his length is near the top! She said that we should keep giving him cereal for about a month and then we can start vegetables and then fruits. The rash he's had is actually just dry skin, she told us to only give him a bath every other day from now on to make sure his skin doesn't get too dry. Ashton didn't get his shots because it hadn't been exactly 2 months since he got his last ones so he'll have to go back next week for shots.

Ashton has decided that he likes to be an early riser! This week he has decided that he wants to get up when I do. Yesterday he woke up at 5 am and this morning I was watching the weather at about 6:30 when I heard him laughing and talking to himself. He always wakes up in a good mood and smiles and laughs. I don't really mind that he's been waking up so early because it gives us a chance to play before I take him to Grandma's house for the day.
Today is Ashton's 4 month checkup. He'll also be getting his shots. We had to switch doctors because my insurance at work switched carriers and Dr. Will isn't in the network so now Ashton will be going to Julie, the PA at Dr. Anderson's office.Comments:Add a comment:

Last night we gave cereal another try. This time Ashton ate all of the cereal I made for him and got mad when it was all gone! He did such a good job of eating with a spoon and only a little bit of the cereal ended up on his bib instead of in his tummy.

Ashton had his first taste of cereal yesterday! I don't think he liked it very much though. Everytime I gave him a bite he made a face and then most of the cereal ended up on his bib. His 4 month checkup is on Thursday so we'll ask the doctor about giving him cereal and then maybe try again next weekend. We took pictures so I'll post them as soon as I have time to get them uploaded!

Ashton took his first bath in the big bathtub today. We tried using the bath seat but he got a little scared so we ended up putting the baby bath tub in the big tub.
